F.L.Y. University is a transformational 2-day training program that teaches dance & fitness fundamentals, dance principles, and strong movement foundation for effective physiological benefits. Learn essential elements of dance history and its implications, and how to apply these learned concepts to a class setting. To put it simply, this 2-day training at FLY U will make you dance your buns off!
In our 2-day intensive you will get the opportunity to learn pre-hip hop era dance styles including waacking, house, popping, and locking. You will also learn traditionally labeled "hip hop" moves created in the 80's-90's. Relive and learn from the past where many new dance styles were born. We then apply these fundamental dance styles to build a fun, fitness dance combo that's easy to learn!
The F.L.Y. Girl program is designed for those who want to inspire, impact, and support others through dance fitness. Fly Girl classes are easy, fun and inviting for new dancers as well those with experience. Dancers, instructors, fitness enthusiasts can all extremely benefit from the material and depth of education during our 2-day training.

WILL I EARN A CERTIFICATION TO TEACH MY OWN CLASS?
Yes! Participants who complete the 2-day FLY U will graduate with a teacher certification. If you are only attending the one-day certification at FLY U, you will need to submit a video audition showcasing your understanding of the material that was presented and ability to teach a Fly Girl mini class. Attendees will receive specifics for what to include in the video submission. Video submission must be submitted within 30 days. Keep in mind no one is REQUIRED to submit a video audition- but if you want to teach Fly Girl class and earn your certification, then YES it is required.
WHY ONLY 30 DAYS TO SUBMIT?
FLY U wants to encourage those interested in teaching a Fly Girl class to practice right away while knowledge and ideas are still fresh. The longer you wait to submit, the harder it may become and we don’t want that for you!

BENEFITS OF ATTENDING DAY 2
Receive same-day Fly Girl certification at the end of Day 2. Due to the extended education and practice hours on Day 2, No additional video submission is required. Instead, you will be well-prepped to perform live in front of your peers at the end of the day.
What is the Fly Girl Practice class?
The Fly Girl practice class is a Fly Girl class led by you and all participating students. Each member will be assigned a part to teach after Day 1 training.
What is the performance review?
At the end of Day 2, you along with your peers will be assigned additional parts to demonstrate your ability in teaching a Fly Girl Class. You will be coached one-on-one beforehand and know exactly what part you will be demonstrating. It is not an audition! Just an opportunity to practice your newly learned skills in a real class setting and receive helpful feedback from your MC.
What happens during the one-to-one coaching?
Your Fly Girl MC will spend time with you individually and offer feedback, answer questions and work on areas where you need the most help to ensure you have the greatest chance for success!
